For some reason today felt like a rainy day even though the weather here as been beautiful. It was one of those days I felt like I just wanted to stay in bed all day long. However, I did get up with my alarm at eight and went downstairs for my usual piece of bread and cup of tea for breakfast. I then got ready to go to my meeting today to figure out my schedule while I am here and made sure to do my morning devotion. My meeting with Shawnee and Larry went well; there are several possibilities, but nothing was made definite yet. I will be checking out a boy’s home tomorrow. Right now it looks like I will be joining the praise and worship team which meets on Wednesday night. I will be doing a discipleship class on Thursday nights. Friday nights will be junior high youth group. Now, Saturdays, I will be apart of another class in the afternoon and then youth group at night. The boy’s home is possibility for the times I do not have anything planed. It is also a possibility that I will start a one on one discipleship group with two other guys and maybe even a deep Bible study that will be done on Sunday afternoons. Also, plans were made for me to lead the youth group on the first Saturday in July. The following weekend, I will get to do some sight seeing with another group that will be here. In the third weekend in July will be the retreat that will be like a Happening weekend. There will be more details after this Saturday because I will have my first meeting with the other leaders of this weekend to plan what will happen. After the meeting Larry and I went to have lunch, we had llenios which is a breaded ball stuff with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and the choice of beef, chicken, or cheese. I tried the one with chicken and it was good. The next stop was to the post office to see all that occurs and how the mail is sent and how the church receives its mail. All throughout the journey Larry pointed out several of helpful tips and places to help me recognize where I am. We made a stop at a small grocery store as well to pick up a couple of items. Also, I had the opportunity to stop by the church office and see what it looks like. It was then back to near Larry’s place to catch a truffi back to the house to relax for a while before I go back to Larry’s for dinner. At Larry’s I had my first meal that tasted like the food I am used to back in America. I had meatballs in gravy with mashed potatoes and green beans, along with a salad. Also, tonight was the first time I had dessert after dinner as well; I had chocolate pudding cake. While I was at Larry’s I had several great discussions about my day today and what I will be doing here. I also let it be known that I like to cook so I have been invited to other missionary’s houses to cook and for dinner as well. Tonight I was also able to connect with the family who does the junior high youth group on Friday and was invited to the group this Friday. Yesterday was quite the struggle, but today God provided me with many blessings. As I know more about what I will be doing here the more I get excited about the next day will bring. When I returned from Larry’s, I decided to program some numbers into my phone, do my night time devotional, shower, and go to bed because I have another day of gathering information tomorrow. One neat realization I had today is that Larry and I are very similar and want to have structure to our schedule, but here in Bolivia it is a totally different world. It was really good being able to spend time and make a connection with Larry today.
