Today started with me waking up to my alarm at eight which seems to be something that I can only do once in a while. Then I headed downstairs for breakfast which I had a piece of bread, a cup of tea, and two cups of water. Next, I got ready to go to class because there is a time of worship and fellowship that starts at ten thirty that I want to participate in. The discussion was really good we explored the differences between power distances which are basically how families operate and decisions are made. During the discussion I had the opportunity to try two new types of bread; one with cheese and one with a orange jelly in it. Both were very good. When this discussion was over I took one of the families I met here to Burger King since I knew the way to get there. I then needed to get change so I will be able to take the bus to and from language school. It was very challenging because none of the stores wanted to exchange money for me. So I finally decided to buy a Coke which cost one Boliviano to break a twenty and the store owner was very upset with me. After drinking my Coke, I headed back to the language school for my classes. Today all of my classes were very challenging and frustrating because I worked first with direct and indirect objects and then moved onto past tense forms which is very complicated because there are two forms used. In my first class with Angelica, I worked on the direct and indirect objects that I had learned yesterday. Also, we started working on one of the forms of past tense. Today was the first day I decided to eat with other people at the language school. I had chicken that was grill, chicken that was boiled, rice, potatoes, tomatoes, and carrots. Then I had a class with Mauge in which both of the past tenses were described to me and then I practiced using them. In the discussion with Mauge, I discussed what high school was like and all the problems I had my first week here. Mauge’s class was the most difficult because I feel like I made a mistake with everything I said and she corrected everything. With Maite in my next class, I continued to practice using both past tense forms. My discussion with Maite also contained what I did in high school, but focused on my animal science and technology class. This process also continued in my final class with Ana Maria. In my discussion with Ana Maria, I discussed what I do during youth group and what I used to do for my Birthday. I was also given three homework assignments to do because I need to practice and I am having difficulty with the past tense. After my class, I returned to the house, did my evening devotion, and decided to relax for a little bit before dinner. For dinner I had some kind of meat, a potato, and some rice along with a glass of lemonade. When dinner was over, I worked on my Spanish by typing up my notes, doing the two homework assignments, and some exercises in the back of my text book. My homework took me the rest of the night to do it, so when I was finished I did my night time devotion, showered, and went to bed.
