August 4th 2008

Well, I think that I had a pretty good sleep last night. I did start waking up as the sun was shining brightly in my face, but was able to go back to sleep. Then I got up with my alarm at eight to go downstairs to have breakfast. For breakfast I had a piece of bread and a glass of water since the water supply is running kind of low. After breakfast I came back upstairs to try and go back to be like I did last week, but I think I had too many things on my mind because I could not sleep at all. So I decided to get up again and do my morning devotion. When I had finished my morning devotion I got ready for my day and to try and so some more work before I left for my last full week at Casa de Nazeret. Before doing my work, I decided to quickly use the internet just to check email and send an important email. Then I got started on my work and in almost no time I was nearly finished with my last paper. However, I thought that it would be a good idea to take a break and relax awhile before leaving the house. After my quick break, I went back to work and was able to complete all the work that I have for college which is such a relief. Even though it was close to the time for me to leave, I still quickly used the internet again to check email, but the internet did not work. I then headed out to go to Casa de Nazeret. There were no problems going to Casa de Nazeret, just the fact that the public transportation seemed to be fuller than normal. I arrived surprisingly on time and since I was there before the boys I worked with another volunteer on a puzzle that she has been trying to complete for the past two weeks that I have been there. When the boys finally arrived back from school, they changed and then came to greet me. We then continued to work on the puzzle until lunch was ready. For lunch I had ground beef mixed with rice, peas and carrots, then fresh peeled carrots and tomatoes on top. The table that I sat at today wanted to know how much my clothing and earrings cost in the United States and then wanted me to tell them how much it was in Bolivianos. They also wanted be to flex for them again, but I did not since they asked at the end of lunch. After lunch it was time for the boys to do their chores and as I walked around to supervise them; I made small talk with them. Next, it was time for homework and I was able to help one boy with his fractions homework, but when it came to doing long division with him; I had problems explaining how to get a solution so I told him he could go work with another missionary. Then I went to help another boy with the same fractions homework and had better success in explaining how to get the answers to the long division problems. It was then time for snack and one of the boys came started hanging on me so I started carrying him around and then I jokingly told him I was going to throw him in the pool. He then stopped hanging on me, but seeing him laugh and smile was a lot of fun for me. After snack I went with another missionary and some other students from another language school to play a game of soccer with some of the boys. On the way to the soccer game I asked the other missionary if I was explaining the math problems correctly. He said that I was and then he offered to teach me some of the other math difficulties there are since the do math differently than how I would do it in the United States. The soccer game went really well and I think all the boys learned a lot and had fun in the process. After the soccer game I returned to the home with the boys and then left immediately because I felt really tired. Since I left early the public transportation was a little more crowded than normal. Also, went I got in the truffi to come home it was very short so when I got in I smacked my head on the roof. Returning to the home earlier than normal was nice because it was quiet and nobody was home. Upon returning to my room I checked to see if the internet worked since it did not earlier before I left. It was working so I checked email and used the internet until dinner time. For dinner I had this fried patty stuffed with vegetables and cheese along with rice, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, and a potato. Also, because the water is running low I decided to drink two glasses of lemonade with dinner. When I finished eating dinner, I finished using the internet and decided to relax the rest of the evening. As it got later in the evening, I did my night time devotion, got ready for bed, and then went to bed.
