August 3rd 2008

Today felt like a normal day because as I woke up the sun was brightly shining in my face. The only problem is that I woke up a half an hour early, so I went back to sleep until my alarm went off at eight thirty. When I got up, I got ready for my day and went downstairs to have breakfast. For breakfast I had a piece bread and a glass of water. After breakfast, I came back upstairs to finishing getting ready to go to church and then headed out to church. I had did not have any problems getting a truffi or a micro to get to church. Since, I arrived to church early I took time to tune my guitar and to get ready for the service. When I arrived everything was functioning properly, but as the service was about to start the projector turned off. Also, a fuse box started smoking, so it was replaced with a smaller one. This means that the service started later than normal and ran smoothly the rest of the way. There was one other problem for me; there was not a whole of space for the musicians this week because we moved into a new space that church will use until their building is built on the property that they have attained. This means that I was not able to see some of the songs clearly in the beginning. However, I was able to move into a position where I could see the songs. Father Walter continued with our study in Romans and gave a sermon about being sons of God. After the service, I talked with Anna about helping me on August the eleventh when I get my gifts from the woodshop. She said that it would not be a problem. Next, I talked with Omar about practice on Wednesday since it is the Independence Day of Bolivia. He told me that the day is normal and that I should not have a problem with transportation. Then some of the youth tried to get me to buy some of the cake that I help make or a soft drink. I told them that I helped to make it so I did not want to buy something I made. This week I had another conversation with Luis; he asked me how my week was and I even had the opportunity to talk to his wife. In conversations with Luis and his wife, and Samuel, it was brought up that I do not have much time left in Cocabamba. Also, they want to know if I will return as well. I think for the first time it was kind of difficult to talk about leaving soon because as soon as I mentioned it their reaction was one of sadness. As I went around talking with other people, Bob came up to me and invited me out to lunch with him and Meg. We went to an Italian restaurant that I was a little weary of because the last time I ate there I got sick later on that evening. However, this time I got a pizza with ham on it and I think that it has settled well. Even though there does not seem to be any problems, I still pray that I do not get sick. During lunch we had a good conversation about what my plans were for the future. Bob also shared with me some of his experiences which was helpful for me as I continue to think about my future. Bob then drove me home and so I checked to see if there were any classes on Wednesday and there is none. Also, Meg said that she would probably see me on Wednesday at worship practice. Before going into the house, Bob informed me that it would be best for me next Sunday to just stay in my house because of the election. As I entered the house, Susanna and Lucas were sitting in the living room. So I had a small conversation with them to see how they were doing and asked Lucas if he could walk yet. Susana told me that he could not yet walk, but then Lucas told that he could walk a little bit. I then went to my room to relax for a little while and to think about the work that I need to do. Before I did any of my work, I decided to write an email. After writing the email, I used the internet for awhile so I could send it. The rest of the afternoon I tried to work out some financial situations so I have enough money for everything. While I was figuring out these financial situations, Susana asked me if I had change for a twenty which I did not. Then she came back and asked for five Bolivians which I probably will not see again. I think that I finally figured out solutions to my financial situations. Since, it was close to dinner time when I finished figuring everything out; I decide to relax until after dinner. Also, I made plans to start on my work after I had eaten dinner. For dinner I had steak with pasta, a potato, and onions, carrots, and tomatoes. After dinner, I came back to my room to get started on the little work that I have remaining for college. As I was about to get started on my work, I was surprised that Susana came to my room to pay me back the money I had given her earlier. I worked on my last paper the rest of the evening, but was not able to finish it. It does feel good to have some of it done because it is less work that I have to do later. Finally, I did my night time devotion, got ready for bed, and went to bed.
